How to Find Padel Players and Partners in Sydney

No one to play padel with? You don't need a regular partner, or even a group of friends. Padel is built for meeting people, and the Playtomic app makes it easy to find players at your level in Sydney. This guide explains how to find padel players and partners using Playtomic, open matches, tournaments and the Padel Point community in Bankstown.

Last updated: October 2026.

Why you don't need a partner to play padel

Padel is played in doubles, so you need four players. That sounds like a hurdle, but most clubs are set up so you can turn up on your own: open matches, social tournaments, classes and leagues all fill the court for you. If you're new, start with what is padel and our guide to padel rules and scoring.

How Playtomic helps you find players

Playtomic is the app we use for court bookings at Padel Point, and it is also a community app for players. It lets you:

  • Set a level. When you sign up, a short questionnaire places you on a scale from 0 to 7, and the level updates as you play.
  • Join open matches. Browse public matches at a club and join one with free spots, or create your own match and let other players fill the empty places.
  • Filter by type. Open matches can be friendly or competitive, and men's, women's or mixed, at a level range you choose.
  • Connect with players. Follow people you've played with, add them as friends and chat with your playing partners.
  • Join your club's community. See who plays at your club, and discover players you might want to connect with.

You can read more in Playtomic's own guide to the community.

How to find padel players in 5 steps

  1. Download Playtomic from the App Store or Google Play and create your profile.
  2. Be honest about your level. Answer the questionnaire carefully. A realistic level means better matches for everyone.
  3. Find your club. Search for Padel Point Bankstown and follow it, so you can see what's on.
  4. Join a match. Pick an open match at your level and book your spot, or book a court and invite friends.
  5. Connect afterwards. Add the people you enjoyed playing with, so you can arrange your next game by chat.

Other ways to meet padel players at Padel Point

  • Social tournaments. Our Saturday Americano is the easiest way to meet people, because you change partners every round and don't need to bring one. You register in advance on Playtomic, and it needs at least 12 players, so you can't just turn up on the day. See how an Americano works, and find the next one in our tournaments on Playtomic.
  • Classes and courses. Group classes and multi-week courses are a friendly way to meet people at your level. See our padel lessons.
  • Leagues. You can register solo for a league and be matched with a partner. Read about our PADL league.
  • The café and bar. After a game, stay and talk. Our café and bar is beside the courts, which makes it easy to arrange the next match.
  • Memberships. If you play weekly, a membership keeps you in the habit and in the community.

Tips for finding good playing partners

  • Choose matches near your level. Slightly stronger players help you improve, but a big gap isn't fun for anyone.
  • Arrive a few minutes early to warm up and say hello.
  • Be a good partner. Communicate, encourage, and don't coach unless asked.
  • Play often. Regular players get invited back, and your community grows quickly.
