Never played padel? You don't need a racket, a partner or any experience to start. At Padel Point in Bankstown you can hire a racket, play a game, and, if you love it, step by step build the rest of your padel life: lessons, your own racket, playmates, regular court time, and a club to hang out in. This guide walks you through that journey and every corner of the club.
Last updated: October 2026.
Step 1: Try padel with a hire racket
The easiest way to start is to book a court, bring a friend or two, and hire a racket on site. A basic racket is $5 for a session (2 hours) from the racket vending machine, which is available all the time, or from our staff, and three balls are $3 a session from the ball vending machine or reception. Staff on the courts (7am to 10pm) can also hire you a premium racket for $10 or an ultra premium racket for $15. See the full racket hire prices.
Padel is played in doubles on a glass-walled court, with an underarm serve and walls that keep the ball in play. If you want a quick primer before you arrive, read what is padel and padel rules and scoring explained. Wear comfortable sports clothes and enclosed shoes, and bring water.
Step 2: Take a lesson
If you enjoyed it, a lesson is the fastest way to improve. Our certified coaches run:
- Private lessons for one, two or three players.
- Group classes of around four players, $60 per person per hour, bookable on Playtomic.
- Courses, a block of weekly classes for beginners, intermediate players, cardio padel and ladies only, bookable on Playtomic.
- Kids' lessons, designed to be safe, fun and full of energy.
See all options and rates on our padel lessons page.
Step 3: Choose your own racket, with advice
After a few sessions you'll know what you like. Our pro shop can help you choose a racket that suits your level, your playing style and your budget, so you don't have to guess online. Come in and ask, or read how to choose a padel racket first.
Demo before you buy. We have a demo racket for every model we sell. Hire it for $25 and play a session with it. If you like it, you pay the remaining price (for a $600 racket, $575) and take home a new, unused racket of that model. Demos are arranged at the club while staff are on the courts (7am to 10pm): pop into the pro shop or contact us to arrange a time. See how the racket demo works.
Browse the padel shop, including rackets, padel shoes, balls and bags. You can also pick up Padel Point merchandise.
Step 4: Find playmates and book courts on Playtomic
Padel is more fun with other people. Playtomic is the app we use for bookings, and it is also how you find playmates and join games:
- Search for "Padel Point Bankstown" on Playtomic to see court availability and book.
- Join an open game to meet players at your level.
- Enter a social tournament. Our Saturday Americano is a great way to meet people, because you change partners every round. You register in advance on Playtomic, and it needs at least 12 players. Read how an Americano works.
- Join our six week PADL league if you want something more structured.
You can see everything we run on the events page, and read our full guide to finding padel players and partners.
Step 5: Play regularly with a membership
If padel becomes a habit, our memberships are designed around how often you play and how much of the club you use. Ask us which one suits you.
Every corner of the club
Padel Point is more than courts. Here's what's on site at Unit 4/35 Starkie Dr, Bankstown Aerodrome:
The courts
Four indoor panoramic courts with 13 metre ceilings and individually controlled, stadium-grade bladeless fans. The weather never cancels your game. Book a court.
AI cameras and highlight screens
AI cameras record your matches and produce statistics and highlights, so you can watch your best points afterwards. There are highlight screens and dedicated viewing areas for friends and family.
Padel-focused warm-up area
A space to warm up properly before you play, which helps you play better and stay injury free.
Racket and ball hire, vending machines and pro shop
Hire a basic racket ($5 a session) from the vending machine (any time) or from staff, or a premium or ultra premium racket from staff (7am to 10pm). Hire three balls for $3 a session, or buy rackets, grips, accessories and apparel in the pro shop.
Café and bar
A health-focused café and a licensed bar, perfect before or after a game. See our café and bar.
Recovery zone: sauna and ice bath
After play, use the integrated recovery zone with an infrared sauna and ice baths at cold and ultra-cold temperatures, with showers. Sessions are capped at four people so it stays quiet. Book wellness centre access.
Co-working pods
Upstairs, co-working pods with free Wi-Fi and monitors let you work, then play. Ideal for a lunchtime game in the middle of a work day.
